Using this website

This website is provided by Daria Lenskaja. By using it you agree to these terms. You may read it, share links to it and print its pages for your own use, and we ask that you do not try to disrupt it, to probe it for weaknesses, or to copy it automatically in a way that puts a burden on the server.

Content and copyright

The text, the layout, the code and the images on this website belong to us or are used with permission, and they are protected by copyright. The pictures in the gallery and the journal are artistic renderings produced by our own software, and they must not be presented as photographs of real objects. You are welcome to quote short passages with a clear link back to the source, but you may not republish whole pages or the pictures without asking us first. The name AstroNight and its logo may not be used in a way that suggests a connection with us that does not exist.

Information and accuracy

The articles are written in good faith to help people who enjoy astrophotography, and they are general information and not professional advice. Astronomical conditions, forecasts and estimates such as the darkness of a sky, the moon phase shown on the page or the chance of aurora are approximations. We try to keep the content correct and current, but we cannot promise that it is complete or free of errors, and you should check anything important against a reliable source before you rely on it.

Safety when you are outside

Photographing the night sky usually means being outdoors in the dark, often in remote or cold places. You are responsible for your own safety, for dressing for the weather, for telling someone where you are going, for respecting private land and for following local rules. Nothing on this website should be understood as encouraging you to take a risk.

Links to other websites

We sometimes link to other websites when they are a useful source. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their handling of personal data.

Liability

This website is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage that arises from using the website or from relying on its content, and we are not liable for interruptions in its availability. None of this limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and it does not affect the statutory rights of consumers.

The app

The AstroNight app is not covered by these terms. When it is released it will be offered under its own licence terms and, where applicable, the terms of the store through which you obtain it. Its handling of personal data is described in the privacy policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may take a dispute to the Consumer Disputes Board in Finland or to the courts that are competent under those rules.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top of the page shows when they were last changed. Using the website after a change means that you accept the new version.
